  • Work in Australia for up to 4 years (or up to 5 years for Hong Kong passport holders).
  • Travel to and from Australia as often as you like while the visa is valid.
  • Apply for permanent residence if eligible.

Specialist Skills Stream

This visa permits you:

  • Work in Australia for up to 4 years (up to 5 years for Hong Kong passport holders).
  • Travel to and from Australia as many times as you want while the visa is valid.
  • Apply for permanent residence if eligible.

My Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Job Nomination:
    • Be nominated for a highly specialized occupation listed under ANZSCO.
    • The role must meet or exceed the Specialist Skills Income Threshold.
  2. Work Experience:
    • At least 1 year of relevant experience in the specialized field.
  3. Skills Assessment:
    • Required for certain occupations to confirm your skills meet Australian standards.
  4. English Proficiency:
    • Meet minimum English language requirements unless exempt.
  5. Health and Character Requirements:
    • Pass medical checks and police clearances.

Process:

  1. Employer applies for sponsorship and nominates you for the position.
  2. Submit your visa application with all required documents.
  3. Application is reviewed by the Department of Home Affairs.
  4. Receive visa outcome.

 

Visa Cost:

  • Main Applicant and Dependents (18+ years): From AUD 3,115.
  • Dependents under 18 years AUD780.00 

Stay Time:

This is a temporary visa.

  • Stay for up to 4 years.
  • Hong Kong passport holders may stay for 5 years.

Place to Apply From:

  • You can apply onshore or offshore.

If Applying in Australia:

You must hold:

  • A substantive visa, or
  • A Bridging Visa A, B, or C.

Processing Times:

  • 75% of Applications: Processed within 4 months.
  • 90% of Applications: Processed within 6 months.

Work Restrictions:

  • You can only work for the employer who nominated you.
  • If you wish to change employers, your new employer must have a nomination approved before you can start work.
  • You must not stop working for more than 60 consecutive days.

 


Licenses, Registrations, and Memberships:

  • If required for your job, you must hold valid licenses or memberships within 90 days of arriving in Australia or receiving the visa.
  • Inform the Australian Government if your license is refused, canceled, or revoked.

Health Insurance (Condition 8501):

  • Maintain adequate health insurance for yourself and your family during your stay.

Work in Nominated Occupation (Condition 8607):

  • You must work in the occupation you were nominated for.
  • If you want to work in a different occupation, you need to apply for and receive a new visa.

Not Be Disruptive (Condition 8303):

  • You must not engage in activities that are disruptive to the Australian community or involve violence.

 

Core Skills Stream

This visa permits you:

  • Work in Australia for up to 4 years (up to 5 years for Hong Kong passport holders).
  • Travel freely in and out of Australia while your visa is valid.
  • Apply for permanent residence if eligible.

My Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Job Nomination:
    • Be nominated for an occupation listed under ANZSCO Major Groups 1, 2, 4, 5, or 6.
  2. Work Experience:
    • At least 1 year of relevant work experience in your nominated occupation.
  3. Skills Assessment:
    • Required for some occupations to validate your qualifications and expertise.
  4. English Proficiency:
    • Meet the minimum standard unless exempt.
  5. Health and Character Requirements:
    • Pass medical checks and police clearances.

Process:

  1. Employer applies for sponsorship and nominates you for the position.
  2. Submit your visa application with required documents.
  3. Application is assessed by the Department of Home Affairs.
  4. Visa decision is provided.

  • Main Applicant and Dependents (18+ years): From AUD3,115.00.
  • Dependents under 18 years AUD780.00

    • You can only work for:
      • The business that nominated you.
      • An associated entity of your sponsor, if your sponsor is an Australian business.
    • If your sponsor is an overseas business, you must work directly for them.
    • If you wish to change employers, the new employer must have their nomination approved before you start work.
    • You must not stop working for more than 60 consecutive days.
  • Licenses, Registrations, and Memberships:
    • Obtain required licenses or memberships within 90 days of arriving in Australia or being granted the visa.
    • Notify the Government if your license or membership is canceled or revoked.
  • Health Insurance (Condition 8501):
    • Maintain adequate health insurance for the duration of your stay.
  • Work in Nominated Occupation (Condition 8607):
    • You must only work in the occupation for which you were nominated.
    • Changing occupations requires a new visa application.
  • Not Be Disruptive (Condition 8303):
    • Avoid any disruptive or violent activities that may harm the Australian community.


 

Labour Agreement Stream

This visa permits you:

  • Work in Australia for up to 4 years (up to 5 years for Hong Kong passport holders).
  • Travel to and from Australia as many times as you want while your visa is valid.
  • Apply for permanent residence if eligible.

  1. Job Nomination:
    • Be nominated for an occupation included in the Labour Agreement between the employer and the Australian Government.
  2. Work Experience:
    • At least 2 years of full-time relevant experience in your nominated occupation.
  3. Skills Assessment:
    • Required for certain occupations to verify qualifications.
  4. English Proficiency:
    • Meet the minimum standard unless exempt.
  5. Health and Character Requirements:
    • Pass medical checks and police clearances.

Process:

  1. Employer secures a Labour Agreement and nominates you for the position.
  2. Submit your visa application along with necessary documents.
  3. Application is reviewed by the Department of Home Affairs.
  4. Receive visa outcome.

Applications Are Assessed Case by Case

  • 90-Day Start Period:
    • You must begin work within 90 days of:

  • Employment Gaps:
